Thanks for Reading!

I started this devotional last year with the goal of giving you 365 days of saints, many of whom stood against racism, sexism, Nazism, and various forms of human cruelty and systemic evil. I wanted to provide inspiration for our own struggles against the awfulness of the current fascist regime and beyond.

I also wanted to set myself the challenge of writing something, however short, every day of the year. This is my own form of disciplined resistance.

As I did then, I dedicate this devotional to my grandparents, Loren and Genevieve Barnhart, who were educators and saints and antifascists in their own time. They began each day saying, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

I will continue to update the website. There are several saints I realized I missed through the year that I feel I need to include here. But I’m going to take a break from sending out email updates because I have other writing projects I now need to focus on.
